Land Bank reports completed demo and starts for Friendship and Wellsville projects

The Allegany County Land Bank documented progress on several property projects at its June 15 meeting. The minutes record that HH Rauh completed a controlled demolition at 4–6 Depot St., Friendship; soil borings for another Friendship parcel were tentatively scheduled for the end of June. Staff also reported use of a new $2,000,000 grant to demolish 12 Depot St., Friendship, and that purchase and closing of 5 W Water St. (an antique barn) were completed on June 10 with a $2,500 safety and security grant from the Allegany County Area Foundation contributing to the effort.
A contract was signed for rehab work at 31 Grover St., Wellsville, and project scheduling and sources-and-uses tables are being developed with Westside Construction and other partners. The record shows interest from People Inc. in siting CrossMod units at 63 Seneca St. Wellsville if financials align. Board direction included starting 31 Grover rehab and issuing an RFP for asbestos abatement and demolition at 12 Depot to move projects forward.
