During review, the mayor requested that the plan avoid the acronym "DEI" and instead use the full phrase "diversity, equity, and inclusion" wherever the term appears. Staff acknowledged the request and said they would add the wording change to the notes and include it in the version sent out before the Council meeting.
"If DEI is referenced anywhere, if we could change it to diversity, equity, and inclusion just so that we are calling it out by name," the mayor said. The request was accepted by staff and will be incorporated into the clean and commented plan versions that staff will circulate to the committee and the City Council.
