"So we're looking at a total cost to complete the entire city, just over $57,000," Scharf said and later gave the firm estimate as $57,409.
Council members asked about the technical limit for leveling versus replacement; Scharf said panels with excessive unevenness (greater than the threshold) should be replaced rather than shaved down. The council approved a motion (1st Hague; 2nd Dickens) to award the contract with a cost not to exceed $57,409; the motion passed by voice vote.
What happens next: Public Works will work with Precision Concrete to schedule the work, prioritizing locations that are safety or ADA concerns and using the remaining sidewalk-maintenance funds for replacement panels as needed.
