Monroe adopts 2026-27 budget with certified tax rate, employee pay increases

City Recorder Allison Leavitt told the council the package includes the city's certified tax rate and a cost-of-living increase for employees. Councilmember Perry Payne moved to adopt Resolution 6 02 2026 adopting the 2026-2027 Monroe City annual budget, including employee cost-of-living and merit pay increases. Councilmember Ryan Johnson seconded. The roll call vote was Bagley, Johnson, Mathie and Payne in favor; the motion passed unanimously, 4-0.
The adopted budget establishes the city's revenue and spending plan for the coming fiscal year and implements the personnel adjustments the council discussed earlier in the meeting. Councilmembers said they will monitor the budget as grant-funded projects and capital needs proceed.
