Council keeps stormwater fee steady and approves 2027 solid-waste assessment

Roeland Park staff presented two routine fee items for the 2027 budget. The council approved maintaining the stormwater utility rate at 0.027 per square foot of impervious area for 2027 (the same rate in place since 2025) and approved the 2027 solid-waste assessment set at $259.70.
"The rate is proposed to remain the same for 2027 as has been in place, actually, since 2025," staff said during the presentation. Council moved and approved both measures by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Staff indicated these items had been discussed at previous workshops and that no substantive changes were made since that review.
