The council approved Pay Application #4 ($67,189.89) and Change Order #1 ($25,692.10) for the multi-campus building demolition project (M796), as recommended by Deputy Director of Municipal Services Dan Fairless.
Fairless told the council the change order covered unforeseen field conditions — extra concrete footings and asphalt materials discovered under the former ice arena and parking area that were not shown on historical plans. "The additional asphalt that was found under the ice arena was an additional amount of $14,817," Fairless said in reply to a council question clarifying part of the change order. He also reported the project is approximately 95% complete and that funding is available in the community center construction fund.
The council moved, seconded and approved the recommended pay application and change order by roll call.
