After discussion and review of comments captured in the blue edits of the packet, the board adopted administrative rule GBCA-AR (staff attire) as recommended by the policy committee.
The rule frames staff dress standards by day and type of activity: business-casual Monday–Thursday, more casual or district-branded gear on Fridays or special spirit days, and situational adjustments for laboratory or hands-on instruction. The rule also includes a process for reporting alleged violations (reported to administration; reports older than 24 hours may not be publicly addressed) and notes alignment with existing collective-bargaining language where applicable. A board member moved to adopt the rule and the motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Board members thanked the policy committee for their work and said the clarified rule should reduce confusion while respecting professional expectations.
