Town awards $898,975.76 road-improvement contract to Vinagro Materials

Public Works Director Ray Pentagas (S16) briefed the council on the townwide road improvement program covering Tanglewood, Winchester and two alternates (Martha and Sorrell). He said seven sealed bids were received and Crossman Engineering recommended Vinagro Materials as the lowest responsive bidder, with a total bid of $898,975.76 for the four roads.
A councilor moved to award the contract to Vinagro and to authorize the town administrator to sign; the motion was seconded and carried by roll call. Director Pentagas said the town will budget up to $1,100,000 to accommodate the project and potential additional roads under evaluation by Crossman Engineering. Councilors asked that contractor work sites be kept orderly while work is in progress.
The award authorizes the administration to move forward with contracting and construction oversight by Crossman Engineering.
