Council approves three-year IT support contract for Fire & Rescue with Apex

Chief Chaudiere (S7) presented a three-year renewal contract for IT support and services with Apex for North Smithfield Fire & Rescue. The chief said the department has had Apex for the last three years and negotiated a three-year term with a 3% increase in years two and three. "This year, in discussions with Tony, we talked about trying to get a 3 year contract into place with them, and we managed to be able to do that," Chief Chaudiere said.
A councilor moved to approve the contract in the amount presented ($15,829.08 for year one) and to authorize the town administrator to sign. The motion was seconded and approved by roll call. Councilors confirmed the expense was included in the current budget.
