Committee debriefs Festival 50 turnout, weather response and possible permanent installations

Members spent a substantive portion of the meeting debriefing the city's Festival 50. The Chair said staff will complete festival evaluations next week and begin planning for the following year; she urged committee members to share what elements resonated. The Chair reflected on storm-related disruption and praised the emergency response, noting the community's work to get people to safety: "we were all home before dark."

Committee members highlighted specific installations and audience responses. One member (S2) described the community "Tango" installation as creating a "really special space." Another member (S3) said the Mariachi band drew new people, "They came for the Mariachi band, and they loved it." The committee discussed whether some interactive pieces should be re-engineered for longer-term display if there is community interest and budget to support more permanent structures.
