Commission hears updates on repairs, Weatherwood Dam plaque and upcoming festivals

Sam Dudley told commissioners that crews repaired a major road issue at a Lake Weatherwood parking lot by installing a concrete apron to prevent vehicle damage, and crews completed closet renovations in Harmon Park apartments during tenant turnover. "We fixed a major road issue at 1 of the parking lots at Lake Weatherwood," Dudley said, and he described the parking-lot divot repair.
Dudley also said the new Weatherwood Dam plaque was installed and looks good, and he flagged upcoming events: the Fat Tire Festival in late September, a newer mountain biking event called Gritfest the next weekend, and a tentative tree giveaway in early October. Commissioners noted the plaque fundraiser completed successfully and suggested cross-promotion to attract visitors to these events.
