Commission amends minutes to note several applicants were not notified of agenda

The Planning and Zoning Commission amended and approved last month nd this meeting's minutes after members raised two clerical fixes and language clarifications. Commissioners agreed to record that several applicants listed as absent were not notified they were on the agenda rather than marked as simply absent.
"They weren't just shy of failure to appear, but that they weren't informed that they were on the agenda," a commissioner said during the roll call discussion. Commissioners also changed wording about a prospective general-plan contractor from "will write" to phrasing that reflects the vendor is one of multiple firms being asked to propose services and may "consult" on a plan rather than having an awarded contract.
The change was moved and seconded and carried by unanimous voice vote. Members said the edits better reflect the city's process and avoid implying an awarded contract where none exists. The commission closed the item and moved on to agenda business, saying staff should ensure clearer applicant notice and more precise phrasing in future minutes.
