County staff asked the board to authorize a one-year, single-event waiver of the county’s contractor insurance requirements for specific small fair contractors — entertainment vendors, small craft and clothing booths, and fair judges — citing their very-low-risk, one-off nature. Food vendors would remain required to carry insurance.
"These are fairly small, very low risk items," Matt (county staff) said, asking the board to approve a one-time exemption and direct staff to review policy after the fair. Commissioner Mark moved to authorize the exemption and direct staff to review county insurance policy after the event; the board approved the motion by voice vote.
