Township sets 2025 fire fees at $60 in Monticello, $95 in Maple Lake

The Silver Creek Township Board of Supervisors voted Oct. 22 to set 2025 fire protection fees at $60 per parcel for properties in Monticello and $95 per parcel for properties in Maple Lake. The motion to set the fees was made by Vice Chairman Brandon Geyen and carried 4-0.
Clerk-Treasurer Alana Paumen also reported administrative matters including the unemployment quarterly statement and completion of a computer installation. Chairman Mike Helman moved to approve Clerk-Treasurer training, a motion that the board approved 4-0. The board recorded that it will keep the state flag in the hall "as is," and discussed options for occasional remote work for staff with prior approval from the chairman.
