Resident challenges trailer ticket, urges allowance for noncommercial trailers up to 12 feet

Frank Varian addressed the Committee of the Whole and said he received a parking ticket for his trailer that is scheduled for a court continuance on July 8. "I received a parking ticket for my trailer," he said, and asked what the Administration suggested. Rod Davisson replied that he could not undo the ticket.
Varian urged the city to allow noncommercial trailers up to 12 feet long to park on public streets, saying he and neighbors regularly use trailers without creating safety problems. Resident David Matchack also addressed Council, arguing against routine permitting if no nuisance is created and urging Council to "use common sense." The Committee did not adopt any immediate changes; staff said the draft ordinance under review could be altered to reflect Council direction before returning for further consideration.
