Council approves minutes, a slate of resolutions and several summer hires

The Clerk opened the meeting by asking the council to accept minutes from a June working session and an executive session and a regular session; the motion was made and the Clerk later announced, "Motion carries." The council then introduced a slate of resolutions (Nos. 107–112 of 2026) covering authorized municipal liens, a rental increase authorization and multiple summer appointments, and asked for a motion to accept the slate.
Council members raised one question about compensation for the proposed special counsel, with one speaker saying, "I'm told that they're around for $95 an hour," and another noting a municipal-rate expectation. The Clerk said the overall contract is currently capped at $40,000 and the administration agreed to confirm final compensation details before finalizing terms. The bills and vouchers list for July 2026 was also approved after a roll-call vote; the Clerk recorded affirmative votes and announced the item passed.
