The Edgerton City Council on Sept. 11 approved a conditional use permit (CU2025-0002) allowing a 60-foot interstate pole sign for Maverik at the Edgerton Crossing development. Development Services Director Zach Moore told the Council the applicant described the sign face in the record as "approximately 769 feet," which the staff said is under the 900-square-foot permit maximum; the Planning Commission had recommended approval 4–0 with a stipulation to add a shield to the northwest corner to reduce visibility from nearby homes.
Applicant representative Nick Hatfield told the Council the shield is an easy compromise and noted the sign is angled toward the interstate; Mayor Donald Roberts and Councilmember Clay Longanecker both expressed appreciation that the applicant agreed to the neighbor-requested stipulation. Councilmember Longanecker moved to approve the amended Planning Commission recommendation; the motion carried 4–0 (Malloy absent). The Council recorded no additional conditions beyond the agreed shield.
