Leoti council agrees to make temporary stop signs permanent near grade school and add stop at west H and Indian Road

Council agreed Aug. 5 to make temporary stop signs at Wyoming and J Street permanent (converting that intersection to a three-way stop) and to place a stop sign on west H Street for eastbound traffic at Indian Road; City Attorney will prepare the ordinance.
Councilor Aron White raised the matter of temporary stop signs that were placed at Wyoming and J Street during Highway 96 construction to assist grade-school drop-off and pick-up. The council agreed to make those temporary signs permanent and to convert the intersection to a three-way stop. Council also agreed to place a stop sign on west H Street to control eastbound traffic at Indian Road. The City Attorney, Charles Moser, will draft an ordinance to formalize the changes.
The minutes record agreement by the council but do not show a formal recorded motion or vote to adopt the ordinance language; the attorney will prepare ordinance language for a future formal adoption. The clerk's office will hold the ordinance once drafted and presented to council for final action.
