Council approves $168,088.38 pay estimate for Earl Street; superintendent reports project nearing curb completion

The Leoti council approved 2024 Earl Street Project Pay Estimate No. 3 in the amount of $168,088.38 during the Aug. 5 meeting; the motion was moved by Derek Meyer and seconded by Aron White and carried unanimously.
City Superintendent Blaine Medina provided an update on project progress, saying two blocks of curb remain to be poured and crews are prepping the street for paving in the coming weeks. Medina also reported related public-works activity: generators at well seven, the water treatment plant and the shop were serviced by Central Power Systems; the bulk water station has had intermittent outages related to phone lines and equipment has been ordered to change internet providers; crews trimmed trees on the east side of the baseball field, sprayed street cracks for weeds, and Berry Tractor is awaiting a part to finish repairing the Tool Cat. City staff are also preparing for the upcoming fair week.
