At the Oct. 21 meeting the council granted permission for the street closure of east J Street (Leoti Foods/Museum) to 5th Street for the town's Christmas in Leoti festivities on Dec. 4. Council authorized the city crew to set up and remove barricades and directed that the sheriff's department and LVFD/EMS be notified.
The request was made by Nikki Bjurstrom of Wichita County Economic Development; the minutes show council approval but do not record conditions such as traffic detour plans or insurance requirements.
