Township consultants presented a parameters ordinance to authorize borrowing for multiple projects, including a new police and administration building and sewer upgrades. The advisers said the township received a AA+ rating from Standard & Poor’s for the proposed financing and aimed to market the bonds on Aug. 3 with a closing in early September. The ordinance defines the scope of projects and the maximum principal to be issued; staff noted minor edits to numbers before final sale.
During public comment, several officers described long‑standing operational and safety shortcomings at the current station: detective work in leaking trailers, no private interview rooms, inadequate evidence storage, insecure officer parking, and the absence of a functional sally port. “Our current police station has served Easttown for many years, but it was built in a different era of policing… It simply no longer meets the operational and safety needs of a modern police department,” Officer Hannah said, urging resident support for the investment. The board approved the parameters ordinance with the edits noted and conducted a roll‑call style acknowledgement for the financing action.
