Trey Lyle, development services program manager, presented a development plan review (information only) for a proposed refresh of the Beach Properties building at 862 William Hilton Parkway. The proposal includes a 900-square-foot first-floor maintenance addition at the rear, consolidation of multiple entrances into a single covered front entry, reestablished sidewalks and expanded landscape screening. The application includes mitigation planting to replace four mature Chinquapin oaks being removed for structural reasons.
Lyle said the project seeks to revitalize an aging commercial property and improve pedestrian access along the William Hilton Parkway frontage. Staff presented the site plan and narrative and requested informal feedback from the commission; commissioners noted the improvements would support a long-term viable use for the parcel and suggested design review considerations.
