Staff updates commissioners on Mesquite Trails, storage facility and Hunt Highway work

Community development reported that a Florence storage facility is nearing construction, Mesquite Trails is paving and preparing model homes, Pinal County continues several projects near town facilities, and the Hunt Highway widening/overlay project expects a mid-August start for initial work.
Staff told the commission that the Florence storage facility on Arizona 79 (Pinal Parkway) has started site clearing and is nearing permit completion, and that Mesquite Trails is laying asphalt and preparing for model homes with some permits already issued. "They're starting to lay asphalt," staff said of Mesquite Trails and reported the project is approaching vertical construction for homes.
Staff also updated commissioners on nearby Pinal County investments, including an administration building and related facilities, and said the T122 overlay on Hunt Highway (the Hunt Highway widening project) is expected to start mid-August with a right-turn lane addition in advance of larger construction. The department said it continues to coordinate inspections and design review on these projects.
