Oglesby council approves FY2027 appropriation ordinance with two edits

Commissioner Cullinan presented the proposed FY2027 appropriation ordinance and accompanying worksheet, noting formatting cleanups and a few numeric inconsistencies. Council members and staff identified two concrete edits: separate transfer-in entries from revenue to avoid duplicating income and correct the front-page wastewater treatment plant appropriation from $8,500,000 to the intended $7,500,000.
"The only thing that I did before the meeting, I got a text message from Becky..." Cullinan said while describing the review process, and staff agreed to adjust formatting. After brief discussion about timing — the ordinance must be approved by the end of the month — Cullinan moved to approve the ordinance contingent on those corrections; the motion passed by roll call.
The council also noted the worksheet clarified appropriations and that the appropriation ordinance itself lists authorized expenditures by fund. Staff said they would update the cover sheet and revenue/expenditure presentation and bring the final document back for posting and archival.
