Public works update: Well 5 back online, dirt roads graded and 20 mph signs arriving for 7th Street

City Superintendent Blaine Medina told the council that Well 5 is back online and a new meter has been added. Medina said the crew has graded all dirt roads within city limits and is completing touch-ups in some areas. He also reported the 20 mph signs for 7th Street have arrived; Medina will file a Dig Safe ticket to have them installed. The street-sweep program continues to collect leaves across the city.
Clerk Jeannine Hassell shared that the office's open house had a good turnout and that City Hall will be closed Dec. 24–25 and Jan. 1; trash routes will run as scheduled. The council set the next meeting date for Jan. 6, 2025 and adjourned at 7:39 p.m.
