City Superintendent Blaine Medina told the council that Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) staff inspected Leoti’s wastewater system on Oct. 28 and were "very pleased" with the condition of the system.
Medina said the city will repair a small section of fence at the wastewater lagoon and look into obtaining a portable generator for the lift stations to ensure continued operation during power outages. Those follow-ups were presented as maintenance and resiliency steps rather than items requiring immediate council funding approval.
B&H Paving’s planned crack sealing in the southwest quadrant was postponed this week due to inclement weather forecast, Medina added. He also reported that the city crew has been performing alley maintenance and that veteran banners are being installed on Highway 25 and 96.
