At the Sept. 16 meeting City Superintendent Blaine Medina updated the council on ongoing public-works projects and operations.
Medina said he will request a quote from M & D Construction of Hays, KS to install a water line to loop Nutrien to Seaboard once specifications are compiled. He reported the street sweeper is out of service and awaiting a replacement part, and that concrete work on Earl Street is finished pending cure time; the contractor will backfill and apply hydro‑mulch so grass can be reestablished. Medina also said stop signs arrived and will be installed around the school, and that some new city crew members learned how to install a water meter off the main with a live tap.
Medina's updates did not include a project schedule or cost estimates for the Nutrien loop; he said he would obtain a contractor quote and return to the council with details.
