Owner of 34 Haven Street wins approval for mitigation planting to satisfy enforcement order

The commission accepted a planting-and-restoration plan to satisfy a prior enforcement order for 34 Haven Street. Consultant Russ Waldron proposed a mix of native oaks and maples (two trees of each species at 2.5-inch caliper per planting location) and said the area would be allowed to naturalize as trees establish. Staff incorporated planting protocol language into the special conditions and changed erosion-control language to use wattles for the flat site.
Russ said his intent was “to just let it be naturalized,” noting the site lacks abundant invasive shrubs that would otherwise require more intensive removal and control. The commission voted to close the hearing and issued an Order of Conditions approving the wetland delineation and the mitigation planting plan with the conditions outlined by staff.
