Staff from Community Development recommended using urban renewal funds to cover consultant and environmental fees related to Oak Street Commons and proposed a $50,000 cap on those expenditures. "We are looking at taking that funding to pay for some of the consultant fees... applying a $50,000 limit," Christy Gilbert said.
A member asked whether the $50,000 cap was intended to be an annual limit or a one-time cap; staff replied it could be brought back each fiscal year or included in the budget process and that any expenditures above the cap would be reviewed by the body. A motion to approve the use of urban renewal funds for consultant fees, feasibility studies, and environmental contracts subject to the $50,000 limit was moved, seconded, and approved.
