Board members voted to approve two memorandums tied to externally funded projects after finance staff explained the grants require no county match. A finance representative told the board, "These grants were funded by SEDU team at a 100%. So the county has no local match," and added the projects could bring roughly $400,000 in revenues to the county.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about reimbursement limits and oversight; staff said reimbursements would be used for allowable activities and that the county would not be writing blank checks. With that assurance the board approved both memorandums by a voice vote.
Staff will continue to manage reimbursements and provide financial oversight consistent with grant agreements and county policies.
