Pratt Area Humane Society reports 2025 intake and adoption numbers, asks for continued partnership

Pam Howell, a board member of the Pratt Area Humane Society, introduced the shelter manager Maria and presented the organization's annual numbers and program updates. The presenters reported about 100 animals brought into the shelter in 2025 with 156 animals leaving alive; the shelter documented 95 adoptions (61 dogs and 34 cats), two euthanasias for very sick kittens, 20 animals placed into foster care and 59 animals reclaimed (58 dogs and one cat) that were brought to the shelter by city animal-control staff.
Howell and Maria described the society’s spay/neuter assistance voucher program and the trap-neuter-return program for community cats, noting they redeemed nearly 200 vouchers and that a $4,000 state grant helped cover some costs. Maria said the shelter microchips animals adopted through the facility and currently houses 12 dogs (three court holds, two on continuous medication) and 18 cats (four in isolation).
Commissioners thanked the shelter staff for their partnership and noted ongoing collaboration with the police department for animal-control activities.
