Council votes 6-1 to enter executive session on personnel after amendment; returns with no action
Summary

On Nov. 18 the Lindsborg City Council voted 6-1 to enter a 30-minute executive session to discuss personnel matters related to non-elected personnel. Councilmember Joshua Swanson made the motion, and Council President Corey Peterson seconded. Councilmember Rebecca Van Der Wege opposed the motion; all others voted aye.
Van Der Wege recommended amending the motion to include the City Attorney; Swanson then amended the motion to include the City Clerk. Mayor Shultz announced council would return at 7:50 p.m. The council did return to the chambers at 7:50 p.m.; the minutes state no action was taken following the executive session. City Administrator Kristi Northcutt reminded council about proper procedures for executive session motions, including citing the applicable state statute and where council would reconvene after the session.
