As part of its Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) rollout, Lindsborg staff presented a targeted list of larger meters that will not communicate with the new endpoints and recommended replacing them now to avoid data loss. Core & Main, the local supplier for Sensus meters, provided a quote for eight 2-inch Omni meters and four 1-1/2-inch Omni meters totaling $18,244.34. Councilmember Tanner Corwin moved to approve the purchase; Councilmember Rebecca Van Der Wege seconded and the motion passed 8-0 by roll call vote.
Staff said some of the older meters are near the end of battery life and that replacing the identified larger meters now preserves data continuity for billing and operations. The AMI project continues to be implemented in phases; this tranche addressed the meters staff judged most urgent.
