The Lindsborg City Council on Sept. 3 approved a $27,379 proposal from Enviro-Line Co. Inc. to rehabilitate components of the Emerald Lake lift station serving Emerald Lake Estates. The council recorded an 8-0 roll call vote to accept the company’s full proposal for parts and labor.
Agenda materials state the lift station was installed in the mid-1990s and that over time increased flows and corrosion have worn impellers, seals, check valves and lift rails. The city placed replacement of the equipment in the capital improvement program to avoid operational failures; agenda materials note switching manufacturers could raise retrofit costs by an estimated $10,000–$20,000, so staff recommended replacing like-for-like components. The motion to approve the Enviro-Line proposal was made by Councilmember Rebecca Van Der Wege and seconded by Councilmember Tanner Corwin.
