The finance committee voted to endorse a one‑year subscription to the MuniWorth/WaterWorth software suite to support sewer user‑fee setting and multi‑year capital planning. Staff described the service as a combined financial and asset‑management tool that will load historical financial data and GIS asset layers to prioritize repairs and estimate lifecycle costs.
A staff presenter explained the workflow: “what this financial software does helps us plan, how we should save, what how we should set user fees,” and said the firm can model underground piping and produce reports and maps from data the town provides. Members probed hosting and ownership: staff said the town provides the data and “any reports that we have, that's our property,” while noting some backend generated matrices remain with the vendor. The committee discussed a one‑year initial contract to avoid triggering an RFP and to get usable data into the model for next year’s capital planning; members supported the endorsement, with one recorded opposition during the final vote.
