The Marion Town Council approved a request from Roadrunner Market, 1450 North Main Street, to operate Virginia legal Skill Games after a public hearing July 6. Town staff noted state rules limit each location to two legal machines, and the council approved the request by a vote of 6 AYES and 1 NO.
Todd Long reviewed the application and told council: "a location is allowed to have up to 2 Virginia legal Skill Games." During the public hearing Charles Wassum of Wassona Park spoke in opposition and read a prepared conclusion on the community impacts of skill‑game operations. Mayor Avery Cornett opened and then closed the hearing before the council voted to approve the request. The motion was made by Tricia Spencer and seconded by Mayor Cornett.
