The Pratt City Council approved purchasing a 40‑foot insulated shipping container outfitted as a combined concessions area and umpire room for Lemon Park at a cost of $27,415. Parks staff said the container will be installed near the smaller Angood field to address recurring complaints about a lack of concessions and a lack of changing/cooling space for umpires during tournament weekends.
Parks staff reported the purchase would come from Trust Fund 52 (tournament proceeds) and said the account held about $183,000 at the last accounting check, leaving ample funds for the acquisition and site prep. "The purpose of it is to have 0.5 of it for concessions and 0.5 of it for our umpire room," parks staff said while describing the planned layout and utilities.
