DC's Different Drummers praises CAH support and details 2026 season

Kyle Rumpler, treasurer of DC's Different Drummers, used the public-comment period to share written comments and an update on the ensemble's activities. He said DCDD is a seven-time CAH grant recipient and described recent highlights: a spring concert to an audience of more than 400, invitations to the National Geographic Museum opening, performances across the DMV, and participation in Pride events and the Palisades Fourth of July parade.
"As a seven time grant recipient, DC's Different Drummers continues to be thankful for the generous financial support and enthusiasm shown to our organization year after year," Rumpler told commissioners. He noted that donations have slowed in the current economic climate and that the organization depends on grant funding and membership dues to sustain programming.
The commission thanked Rumpler for the update and for community performances that reach broad audiences; staff offered to follow up on any factual questions by email as requested in the public-comment instructions.
