The Filer School District Board of Trustees approved the second reading of the Personal Electronic Communications Devices policy at its Dec. 18 meeting. Superintendent Kelli Schroeder told trustees she met with each principal on implementation and said principals would set their own timelines, "with all schools having the policy fully in place by March 3, 2025."
The action followed a student survey on cell phone use reported to the board during school reports. Trustee Joe Maloney moved to approve the second reading; Trustee Jeff Volle seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board did not amend the policy at the meeting and left building-level details to each principal.
