In "Other Business" Planning staff reviewed the Local Land Use Planning Act (LLUPA, Idaho Code Title 67 Chapter 65) and discussed the relationship between the Comprehensive Plan (the county's vision) and the Development Code (the implementing ordinance). Sara Bowersox urged commissioners to participate in upcoming comprehensive planning work and pointed to video resources from the Idaho Association of Cities and Association of Idaho Counties.
Commissioners asked staff to make code citations and page references easier to find in staff reports and requested earlier distribution of materials. Staff said they are hiring additional personnel to improve report lead time and agreed to incorporate page numbers and clearer references in future standards of review. Jacob Farnes reinforced that staff recommendations are grounded in the county code and that commissioners retain their decision‑making authority to apply standards during deliberation.
The commission set its next regular meeting for March 16, 2026, and adjourned at 7:33 p.m.
