Heather Williams provided a governance training session for the Board of Trustees of Filer School District before the board called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The training focused on trustees’ roles and responsibilities and the principle of "staying in their lane," intended to clarify the boundary between governance and administration.
Trustees Jenni Lanting, Joe Maloney, Jeff Volle and Tammy Kelly and district staff including Superintendent Kelli Schroeder, Business Manager Arron Phinney and Clerk Teresa Kullhem were present when the session began at 4:15 p.m.; Trustee Deetz entered the meeting during the training. After the training the board approved the posted agenda on a motion from Trustee Maloney, seconded by Trustee Kelly; the minutes record the motion as carried unanimously. The board did not announce additional immediate follow-up actions tied to the training.
