Craven County elections office unveils interactive polling-site map

Carroll said the map presents the entire county with layers for precincts, municipalities, early-voting sites and election-day sites and includes a search bar where users "can type in your address." He told commissioners the tool will show wards, senate districts and commissioner districts, and includes a route function so a voter can get directions to their polling site.
Commissioners asked whether the search works by address or name; Carroll confirmed it operates by address and noted the state's site requires exact voter-roll name formatting, which the county map avoids. Carroll said staff have sent the map to the state election board, which "liked it," and that the county will continue refining precinct layers before wider public posting.
The presentation was informational; no formal action was required. The chair encouraged staff to share the map publicly once final checks and state coordination are complete.
