Staff member said teen visits have increased, noting times when about 15 teens occupied the teen room; she described new snack distributions and hygiene purchases using grant funds to meet that demand.
On community supports, staff reported the seed program has distributed approximately 1,000 small seed packets since the start of the month and that about 300 full-size seed packets arrived needing volunteer sorting. On the food pantry, staff said it was nearly empty except for one can of tomatoes that had remained for two months and described a recent donation of eight dozen eggs that were claimed within an hour.
“These are things we give out — we've probably given out 1000 little packets so far,” the staff member said when discussing seeds, and later wryly suggested putting googly eyes on the lone can of tomatoes to boost interest. Staff asked for volunteers to help sort seeds and noted ongoing need for clothing donations in larger youth sizes.
