"They did confirm that our town and all municipalities need to switch their election dates from odd years to even years if that's how they're set up... which we are, to coincide with statewide election dates," a council member reported, adding that the change would be gradual and could include one-time term adjustments (for example, running a 2.5-year term to sync a seat). Council members said the municipal league and secretary of state's office will provide guidance on specifics and timelines.
