Council approves $250 for Beverly Heritage Center’s Old-Fashioned Christmas

The Beverly Town Council voted Nov. 18 to provide a $250 donation to the Beverly Heritage Center to help fund an Old-Fashioned Christmas event planned for Dec. 7. Linda Peterson, speaking for the heritage center, introduced director Eleanor Renshaw and Deputy Director Lisa Eason and described planned activities: "There will be kid's activities including crafts, vendors and the tree lighting at 5 pm." The motion to provide $250 was made by Katie Whittaker and seconded by Matt Lewis and passed with all members voting in favor.
The council also approved purchasing a large Christmas tree for the town square from Hart Christmas Trees, with Connie Pingley’s motion limiting the purchase to "not to exceed $200." The decision followed discussion of holiday decorations and complements the heritage center’s programming. The council did not attach additional funding conditions; event logistics and timing remain with the Beverly Heritage Center and volunteers.
