Beverly council directs audit procurement committee to meet and choose town auditor

After the clerk reported receipt of two of four RFPs, the Beverly Town Council voted Oct. 21 to have the Audit Procurement Committee meet immediately after the council meeting to select an auditor for FY2023-24 and FY2024-25. The motion passed unanimously.
Town Clerk Robin Wilson told the Beverly Town Council Oct. 21 that the town had received two of four Request for Proposals for auditing services. Council members voted to convene the audit procurement committee after the council meeting to review proposals and choose an auditor for fiscal years FY2023-24 and FY2024-25. The motion was made by Robbie Moyer and seconded by Matt Lewis and recorded as unanimous.
The council did not enter extended public discussion on auditors in open session; the clerk’s statement in the packet is the only record that two proposals had been received. The council’s motion directs the procurement committee to meet and select an auditor, after which the selection would be returned to the full council for formal authorization if required by town procedures.
