EDA approves up to $45,000 for irrigation engineering design and bidding support

Cook County EDA authorized an engineering services agreement July 21 not to exceed $45,000 to produce design, bidding documents and construction management support for the irrigation connection at Superior National.
Chair explained the scope includes design and assistance through the bid phase and construction management. Directors asked whether the bidding scope would include septic work as well as irrigation; staff said the scope can be written to cover both provided Terra Firma documentation is sufficient to guide the bid. "This will take us through the bid and we'll be working closely with the bid winner on executing natural construction itself in addition to all the design work," staff said.
The board approved Resolution 2026‑26 by roll call. Directors discussed how the fee fits into escrow and closing pro forma estimates; staff said anticipated closing cash and inventory numbers provide comfort that contingencies can be covered.
