Jackson County honors airport employee and health‑department staffer for service

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners opened its July 1, 2026, meeting by recognizing Jim Alcorn of the Airport Department as Employee of the Month and honoring Chad Petersen of the Health and Human Services Department for 25 years of service.
Commissioner Randy Sparacino read Alcorn's citation and Commissioners Rick Dyer and Colleen Roberts praised his work. Airport Director Brad Cozza said Alcorn "successfully balancing numerous responsibilities while remaining welcoming to travelers at the Airport." Alcorn thanked the Board for the recognition and said the "Airport staff as a whole does a great job." The Board also recognized Chad Petersen; Commissioners and Health and Human Services staff (Jackson Baures and Stacy Brubaker) commended his long service and contributions to county operations.
Both recognitions were ceremonial; no formal actions or expenditures were recorded in the minutes.
