Board unanimously recommends adoption of Mobility Plan element to help secure safety funding

The Historic Resources Preservation Board on Nov. 13 recommended approval of Ordinance 2024-19, which would adopt the City—s Mobility Plan and amend the Comprehensive Plan to align with the plan—s goals and objectives.
Staff described the Mobility Plan as addressing how goods and people move through the city and as containing a safety plan that would make additional City funding available for safety action and improvement projects. Board members praised the outreach performed during the draft and the amount of community engagement reflected in the plan. "Great outreach to the Community and appreciates there was much effort and work put into the new element," one board member said.
Vice-Chair Nadine Heitz moved to recommend approval; Laura Devlin seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The recommendation will be forwarded to the City Commission for final action and the draft may undergo further revisions during the approval process.
