Interim City Manager James Booth told the board the city contacted Ms. Janis Fleet about available training for new members and that the American Planning Association has two upcoming sessions: Daytona Beach on Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Newberry on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. "The City will cover the costs," Booth said, and asked members to tell Beau Wright or Wendy Harris which session they prefer.
Board members were given the option to attend either session to support orientation and professional development. The item was informational; no motion or vote was required. Staff indicated the city would handle registration and payment.
